On May 15, 16 and 17, 2017, the Fifth Seminar of the UFMG Jean Monnet Chair was held at the Faculty of Law and Sciences of the State of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, with the theme "Regional Development and Cohesion: The Paradigm of the Post -Modernity in a Globalized World. " About thirty professors and law professionals from all over Brazil attended, as well as guests from Spain, Italy and Slovenia. There were more than two hundred students and a team of about fifteen organizers. The themes of the lectures ranged from human rights and peace to environmental policies and the Security Council and terrorism.
On May 4th, 5th and 6th of 2017, with the collaboration of the Jean Monnet Chair UFMG, the event "III International Seminar - Dialogue Between Judges: Human Rights and Sustainable Development" will take place in the University of Tiradentes - Campus Farolândia. The event is being organized by the professors doctors Liziane Paixão, Maria Marinho and Solange Teles. The registrations have no monetary cost and can be made in the Magister and in the local of the event.
On the 5th and 6th of December, the Homa held the first Dialogue on Human Rights: Human Rights, International Law and Integration of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in partnership with the Jean Monnet Chair - UFMG.
The seminar is intended to discuss issues relating to international law and integration, bringing together national experts on the subject and disseminating the academic process of protection and defense of human rights.
The event will address relevant issues in the scenario, such as:

On August 17, 2016, the Jean Monnet Chair UFMG will hold a seminar at the Law School of UFMG. The seminar will take place in the Congregation Room at 7PM and will be on "The European Union and the Protection of Human Rights to Strengthen Cohesion and Governance". Certificates will be distributed and is not necessary to register for the event.
The I Seminar on Technical Cooperation between the UFMG Jean Monnet Chair Program and the Rui Barbosa Institute (IRB) will take place on August 18 , from 2PM to 5PM at the Rui Barbosa Institute). The objective of the seminar is to mark the beginning of the collaboration between the UFMG Jean Monnet Chair and the IRB regarding the realization of events, publications and research projects. The event will be attended by the Hon. President of the TCE/MG, Dr. Sebastian Helvécio Castro Ramos; Professor Dr. Roberto Correia da Silva Gomes Caldas and Professor Dr. Eduardo Augusto Alves Vera-Cruz Pinto, who will deliver the lectures related on the poster below. The event is free and open to the public, with the emission of a 4h certificate, and applications can be made in the website indicated on the poster.
The presentation of the book "Jurisprudencia Ambiental en Europa y América Latina", funded by the UFMG Jean Monnet Chair, took place on July 18th at the Museo del Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. The event was attended by national and international authorities such as the European Union representative in Argentina, José Ignacio Salafranca and the deputy governor of the Province of Buenos Aires Daniel Salvador, in addition to Professor and Jean Monnet Chair holder Dr. Carlos Francisco Molina del Pozo, who was also a co-organizer of the project, among other representatives of the provincial and national government and diplomatic representatives of the Mercosur countries. The project, co- organized by Professor Dra . Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz, was regarded as having provincial and legislative interest by the province of Buenos Aires.
The Third Seminar of Jean Monnet Chair UFMG was held on May 9th of 2016, which is the "Europe Day". The event was a partnership with the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais (MPMG) and lectures were given by the teachers Roberto Caldas, Elizabeth Accioly, Wilson Fernandez and Liliana Bertoni. The theme was "A Tribute to the Integration of Peoples," and among issues discussed were the migratory crisis in Europe, the relations between the European Union and MERCOSUR, governance in the context of regional integration and democracy in the construction of processes of integration. Teachers Roberto Caldas and Elizabeth Accioly also gave presentations on the Studies and Functional Improvement Center (CEAF) of the MPMG, during which took place the signing of an agreement for cooperation between the Jean Monnet Chair UFMG and MPMG and the launch of a book compiled by professor Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz, "Jurisprudencia Ambiental en Europa y America Latina - Una Contribución para el Desarrollo Sostenible".
