The Jean Monnet Chair, represented by Professor Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz, attended the IV Symposium on International Law, held at the Federal University of Ceará, in Fortaleza. The event, which took place from November 22 to 24, 2017, was attended by professionals such as Elizabeth Accioly, Mariângela Gomes, Alice Rocha da Silva, Carlos Francisco del Pozo, Marcílio Toscano Franca Filho and Liziane Paixão Oliveira. The themes were "Law and Culture" and "European Private International Law: Harmonization, Policies and Conflicts". Representing the Chair was Professor Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz. On January 29, 2018, the "Luso-Brazilian Conference on Public Procurement and Sustainable Development" and the XIII meeting of the "Integration, State and Governance" research network will take place. The event will be held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and will address issues such as public procurement and environmental protection, administrative morality, private enforcement, European Union and Mercosur. Some of the guests are: Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz, Nuno Cunha Rodrigues, Eduardo Paz Ferreira, Roberto Correia da Silva Gomes Caldas, Daniel Amin Ferraz and Elizabeth Accioly. The event has the support of the Jean Monnet UFMG Chair.

The UFMG Jean Monnet Chair will hold, in partnership with UNISINOS, from 20 to 21 November, a seminar in Porto Alegre. The themes are "Law and Culture" and "European Private International Law: Harmonization, Policies and Conflicts". The event will be attended by several national and international speakers, from places like Portugal, Paraguay, Mexico, Argentina and Spain. The Chair will be represented by Professor Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz.

The UFMG Jean Monnet Chair, represented by Chairwoman Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz, participated in the "III International Congress of Control and Public Policies", promoted by the Rui Barbosa Institute and the Court of Accounts of the State of Paraná. The event took place in Curitiba between the 17th and the 19th of October. Topics ranged from accounting to public health, through education, compliance and infrastructure. Among the invited ones was the Chairman of Alcalá Jean Monnet, Carlos Molina del Pozo. 

The Jean Monnet UFMG Chair, represented by Professor Jamile Bergamaschine Mata Diz, participated on the 16th and 17th of October at the BNDES Seminar on "Regional Development, Infrastructure and Cohesion - The Experience of the European Union and South America". The event dealt with themes such as cohesion funds, the role of banks in fostering integration and cohesion, development cooperation and energy integration. Among the guests was Professor Carlos Molina del Pozo, Professor Jean Monnet of the University of Alcalá; Roberto Correia da Silva Gomes Caldas, Alice Rocha da Silva, Daniel Amin Ferraz, André de Paiva Toledo, Patrícia Nasser de Carvalho, Dawilsson Belém Lopes, Dar Antônio da Luz Costa, Lorena Granja Hernandez, Sergio Suchodolski, Monica Esmeralda Bruckmann Maynetto e Paulo Emílio Vauthier Borges de Macedo
